In the Fall of 2025 through the Spring of 2026 I had the pleasure of participating in Google’s UX Design Certificate course. Through the course, I learned the importance of prioritizing user experience in design and pushing for accessibility in tech.

In this project I designed an app in Figma for a hypothetical beer garden called The Hidden Tap located in Woodbine, Maryland. I aimed to create an app that prioritizes accessibility and promotes community. I chose to design five main pages: Brew, Menu, Home, News, and Chat. The Brew page serves as a spot to get brewing advice and recommendations from The Hidden Tap’s owner. The menu page lists brewery items available at The Hidden Tap, labeled with recognizable tags and images and detailed with descriptions and brewing information. The Home page is a customizable center where the user can access their Bookmarks and Favorites. The News page offers the user a free Newsletter subscription and provides updates from The Hidden Tap. Finally, the chat tab offers one-on-one discussions with a Hidden Tap employee during business hours.

In the slideshow below, I will take you through my journey from an idea on paper to market research and usability studies, all the way to my final product.
